## Cassation Appeal and the Advocate's Mandate

The examination of a cassation appeal in the Supreme Court takes place within the framework of the advocate's authority: advocacy covers the representation of the client in a constitutional dispute and in a criminal, civil or administrative case, before courts, in arbitration, and before detention and investigation bodies. At the cassation stage this means that the drafting and support of the complaint is a classical form of the advocate's activity — from giving legal advice to preparing documentation and representing the client in court. The advocate has the right to represent and defend the client, the client's rights and freedoms, before the constitutional, supreme and common courts, in arbitration and before investigation bodies — the cassation instance is thus a direct sphere of this right. The definition of advocacy itself enumerates its forms: giving legal advice to the person who applies, representation in every category of case, the preparation of legal documents and the submission of documentation — each of these forms is employed in cassation proceedings.
