## About this service

When a consumer's rights are violated, the law gives not only the court route but a special administrative one: filing an application with the Georgian National Competition and Consumer Protection Agency or the regulator of the relevant field. This procedure is faster and less costly than litigation, but it demands its own discipline: deadlines, evidence and a correct plan for reacting to the decision. This service helps consumers and businesses precisely within that administrative procedure — from preparing the application to appealing the Agency's decision.

### Where do I file a consumer-rights application?

With the Georgian National Competition and Consumer Protection Agency or the regulator of the relevant field. In separately regulated sectors the application is forwarded from the Agency to the relevant organ. This route does not cancel the right to go to court or to mediation.

### How quickly does the Agency react?

Within 10 working days of filing, the Agency notifies you of its reaction or the absence of grounds. The examination is completed within 1 month of the decision to open, extendable by no more than 3 months; requests for additional information or an expertise suspend the deadlines.

### What happens when a violation is established?

The Agency sets the trader a reasonable period to restore the violated right or demands cessation of the action; non-performance of the decision leads to a fine. For an unfair standard term it may prohibit its use across the entire sector.

### Can the decision be appealed?

Yes — to the court within 30 calendar days of delivery to the trader. But appeal does not deprive the Agency of the right to impose a fine, so this risk must be factored into the planning.
