Legal advice on pharmaceutical manufacturing, export and cross-border supply in Georgia
A European pharmaceutical company is assessing whether Georgia could support an export-oriented manufacturing structure for oral medicines that would not be registered for domestic sale and would instead be intended for international markets. We are seeking Georgian legal advice on the corporate and licensing structure required around the manufacturer, including whether a local legal entity, wholesaler, pharmacy, dispenser or other licensed intermediary would be necessary, and whether a Georgian manufacturer could export directly to a licensed foreign wholesaler/pharmacy. We also require advice on Georgian-law limitations affecting cross-border telemedicine, prescribing and dispensing, allocation of legal responsibility between the manufacturer, prescriber, wholesaler/pharmacy and dispensing entity, and which elements of the proposed pathway fall under Georgian law versus destination-market law. UK and European markets are of particular commercial interest.
