The Legal Layer of a Crypto Casino
Casinos operating with cryptocurrency are a new technological layer, but legally they are assessed within an existing framework. The fifth article of the law regulates the supply side: the supply of gambling and/or profitable games on the territory of Georgia requires a permit, and unpermitted supply is a violation of the law. This requirement concerns the format of the service — the details of its technological implementation do not change the essence of this norm.
The third article of the law defines the systemic-electronic form as the conduct of the game using the internet, telephone and/or specially equipped electronic means — under the consolidated edition, in compliance with the requirements established by law. The definition of essential products also covers the platforms, the bases and the financial system — which means that the elements of a crypto platform are also read through this conceptual apparatus.
