The short answer. Use legal.ge: describe the case and where it stands in the Ask form so that several verified lawyers see it at once, or pick one yourself from the list of dispute resolution and litigation specialists. All of them work in English and most also in Russian; they take disputes to court in Georgia (the country) and handle appeals against decisions.
Where is your case?
A lawyer first needs the stage, because the work changes with it:
Before court: a written demand, a settlement or mediation may still end the dispute. Ask whether it is worth trying.
Under way: a claim has been filed and hearings are set. Send the lawyer the claim, the other side's response and the date of the next hearing.
Decided: you have a judgment and want to challenge it or have it enforced. Tell the lawyer the exact day you received it; they will tell you how much time is left.
Put the file in order
A court case is made of paper. Scan the documents in date order, name each file by its date, and add one paragraph on what you want the court to decide. A lawyer who can read the file in ten minutes can give you a concrete answer at the first consultation.
What to ask before you hire
Who will attend the hearings, and in which city the court sits.
How the fee works: by stage, by hearing or as a fixed sum. Consultation fees in this field on legal.ge run from GEL 100 to GEL 250.
Which court costs you may have to pay, and what the costs could be if the case goes against you.
How they will keep you informed between hearings.
