A legal entity engaged in commercial, amateur, sport or scientific hunting — or a tourism company operating in that profile — has a distinct status in the Law on Arms. The law grants such an entity the right of acquisition, but with a clear limitation: it may acquire only hunting firearms and their main elements. Beyond that, the law regulates the registration deadline for such weapons, the storage rules and the procedure for temporary transfer to natural persons — and it is precisely across these three circles that the errors arise which later turn into liability under the Code of Administrative Offences.

The service on this page is complete legal support on weapons for a hunting-business legal entity: from exercising the acquisition right to registration, and from storage rules to the accounting of transfers to hunters.

The acquisition right and its boundaries

The list of holders of the acquisition right directly includes a legal entity engaged in commercial, amateur, sport or scientific hunting, or providing tourism services in that profile and meeting the requirements established by the government. The content of that right is precisely defined: such an entity may acquire only hunting firearms and their main elements. Moving to other weapon categories is not permitted by law — and that boundary is also reflected in the storage and accounting rules this entity must maintain.

The ammunition rule is equally clear: such an entity may acquire ammunition only where it is intended for firing from a hunting firearm registered in its name. This means the planning of the arsenal and the balance of its ammunition are two sides of one documentary system.

Registration — ten working days and its consequences

The entity must, within ten working days of acquiring a hunting firearm or its main element, register it with the Service Agency, in the manner established by an order of the Minister of Internal Affairs. Until that obligation is fulfilled, the weapon may not be disposed of or its use transferred to another person. The same logic applies to changes in the registration data: re-registration is mandatory within ten working days of the arising of the ground.

One detail worth knowing when planning purchases: for the acquisition of weapons of identical make and model, or of a certain quantity of weapons, in the case defined by law, the consent of an authorised officer of the relevant territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is required. This means that buying identical weapons for image or standardisation purposes demands an additional administrative step — and we plan that step in advance.

Storage, accounting and issuance rules

For a legal entity owning hunting weapons the law establishes a special regime: the rules of storage, accounting, issuance and security of its hunting firearms and ammunition are drawn up by that entity itself, in accordance with the requirements established by the Minister of Internal Affairs. The state defines the frame; the company writes its own document within it — and the quality of that document determines how the company passes inspections.

Temporary transfer — the hunters' service

The heart of the hunting business is precisely that the weapon is used not by its owner but by the hunter-client. The law regulates that route: where the circumstance envisaged by law exists, the accounting of the temporary transfer of a weapon to a natural person is maintained by the owner of the weapon, and the owner is obliged to supply that information, in the manner established by the legislation, to the authorised persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The transfer of ammunition follows the same logic: it is acquired and transferred only within a defined period, matched to the specific weapon.

We structure that accounting system so that it does not become a bureaucratic barrier but remains part of the service: from the hunter's arrival to the issuance of the weapon, the steps, signatures and notifications work in a pre-learned format, and at every inspection the company presents it as a single file.
