Winter tire requirements
The seasonal requirement is precisely defined: when a vehicle moves, during the winter period — from the first of December to the first of March — at a location or road section determined by the government of Georgia, all of its wheels must be equipped with winter tires of appropriate characteristics. For trucks this is particularly significant: given the laden mass, braking distance in winter conditions increases sharply, which is exactly why the law requires all wheels to be equipped. Breaching this requirement is a direct impairment of road safety and becomes an object of supervision.
